The gondolas are indeed everywhere. And clearly being a gondolier is one of the last places women have not yet penetrated. Apparently the men guard this privilege quite intensely, the few licenses here are inherited (I think through the widows, but it's not really clear).

One day women, one day.

For now, it's nice to watch the burly men in black and white pushing people through the canals of Venice . . . .

The subject at hand here isn't Gondolas or toilets. Just the new president of the USA!!!!
Looks good in the State of Washington too.
What a ______ relief!! We cried, we celebrated and we called family and friends, including you!!
And still jealous for your experiences, but moderately so having been there myself I know your taking it in and sharing it well. Looking forward to feeling Venice when you get back.
